Explore the best techno clubs through Underground Talent’s community ranking. Compare venues across seven cities, choose the five clubs that matter most to you, and see how other readers vote when voting is open. This is a ranking of personal favourites, not an official assessment of sound-system quality, venue safety, cultural importance or current opening hours.
How does the best techno clubs community ranking work?
The ranking is driven by readers rather than an editor placing venues into a fixed order. Browse the club cards, use the city filters to narrow your choices, and build a personal top five. The voting-status indicator above tells you whether the ballot is open or in preview mode.
- Select five clubs. Explore the venue cards and pick the clubs you would most like to support.
- Arrange them in order. Your first choice receives five points, the second four, down to one point for your fifth choice.
- Verify your ballot. When voting is enabled, enter your email address, submit your choices and follow the confirmation link. Only verified votes count; you can update your ballot using the same address.
Browse and arrange clubs without submitting a vote. The public leaderboard represents the preferences of verified participants, not a definitive list of the world’s greatest clubs. When results are available, the totals can change as new ballots are verified.
Explore the best techno clubs by city
The clubs are grouped by city so you can explore the local scenes behind the names. For more practical information, read the corresponding Underground Talent guides before planning a visit:
- Athens techno clubs — underground nightlife and independent venues.
- Barcelona techno clubs — electronic-music spaces across the city.
- London techno clubs — places to explore the capital’s techno scene.
- Berlin techno clubs — established institutions and alternative club spaces.
- Amsterdam techno clubs — venues, culture and practical context.
- Copenhagen techno clubs — local spaces and electronic-music communities.
- Paris techno clubs — a guide to the city’s electronic nightlife.
Line-ups, accessibility, admission policies and operating hours can change, sometimes at short notice. Check the venue’s own current information before travelling; for example, Berghain’s official website provides the Berlin venue’s own announcements and programme.
What makes a great techno club?
A memorable club is not just a famous name. People may value the music programming, sound system, resident DJs, crowd, accessibility, atmosphere or the opportunity to hear artists who rarely play elsewhere. Smaller venues can be just as meaningful as internationally recognised institutions.
That is why the best techno clubs ranking is community-led. Different voters bring different memories, musical tastes and local knowledge. It is fine to vote for a venue you love even if it never appears in a conventional travel list.
Prefer producers and DJs? Explore our separate best techno artists community ranking. For the wider culture of club nights and why they matter, read our guide to techno parties.
Frequently asked questions about the club ranking
Can I change my top-five club votes?
Yes. When voting is enabled, you can submit a revised ballot using the same verified email address. Your updated choices replace the earlier ballot rather than creating an additional vote.
Why isn’t my favourite techno club listed?
The ballot is a curated selection, not an exhaustive directory of every venue. Use the club-request form on this page to suggest a location. Suggestions are reviewed before any addition; they are not automatically listed.
Are the ranked clubs all open right now?
Not necessarily. Club operations, event programmes and opening hours can change. Use the current venue website or event announcement to confirm details. A community ranking is not a real-time opening-hours directory.
Does entering my email subscribe me to marketing?
No. The ballot verification and Underground Talent newsletter are separate. Entering your address for a ranking vote does not automatically subscribe you to marketing messages.
Does this ranking decide which clubs are objectively best?
No. It represents the choices of people who participate in the community vote. The results reflect audience preference, not independent measurement of venues, sound quality or cultural importance.
To continue exploring beyond clubs, the Best Techno discovery page brings together artists, records, festivals and practical industry directories.
