Techno Sequences by Erald: 50 u-he Diva Presets

Techno Sequences is a preset bank by Erald built for the u-he Diva software synthesizer. It contains 50 patches aimed at different approaches to techno. The distinguishing idea is playability: according to the creator, many of the sounds can work with a single held or triggered MIDI note, giving producers a way to build movement without beginning with a complex chord progression.

November 2026 update: Erald’s original product listing remains online. We have replaced the old affiliate checkout link with a direct link to his store and revised this feature to distinguish the sound bank from the Diva instrument itself. Prices and licensing are set by Erald, not Underground Talent.

What is in Techno Sequences?

The published pack contains 50 u-he Diva presets. Rather than promising a separate MIDI library, samples or effects, the collection focuses on instrument patches intended for techno production. Erald describes the sounds as covering several techno styles, with most patches designed for convenient one-note playing. The exact sound character is easiest to assess by listening to his own demonstration.

Hear the original Erald walkthrough

Erald demonstrates the pack in the Techno Sequences walkthrough video. Listening to the sounds outside a complete arrangement is useful when comparing preset packs: focus on the underlying timbre, the relationship between the envelope and gate length, and whether a repeating phrase stays interesting over several bars.

Making a hypnotic sequence with Diva

A practical way to explore one-note patches is to create a single MIDI note on each beat or a less predictable syncopated pattern. Change the lengths, velocity and note placement before adding more harmony. Keep the kick and the sequence at sensible levels to judge the low-frequency interaction.

For a longer hypnotic build, try automating filter cutoff or the host’s effect send gradually. Once you have a pattern that feels right, duplicate the clip and remove notes rather than adding them everywhere. Small rhythmic differences often make a more useful techno arrangement than stacking several similar synth lines.

Remember that a preset can react differently depending on velocity, note length, controller data and Diva’s own voice settings. Not every patch is intended to generate a full self-running sequence without MIDI input: audition each one on its merits.

Compatibility and installation

This is a Diva soundset, not a standalone synthesizer. You need a working Diva installation and compatible host. u-he documents preset locations and soundset management in the official Diva user guide. Check the bank instructions and test newly imported presets in your installed Diva version before relying on them for a live set.

Unlike generic sample loops, the patches remain editable in Diva. You can adjust oscillators, filters, envelopes and effects to suit a particular key or arrangement. Save your modified patches under new names rather than overwriting the source bank.
