Hello, Ortus. Thank you so much for this chat. Congratulations on all your achievements so far. So, tell us, how far do you want to go? What are the main goals you still pursue in your career?
Hello! Thank you for the invite.
I think the sky’s the limit, working harder and harder to always conquer new dreams. I think that, with the work I’ve been doing every day, I’m having more and more opportunities. I still want to release for many labels that I consider to be an important step in my career, and I’m not even close to completing the album of places I want to touch in the world. I’m still getting more and more focused.

When did you realize that you really wanted to dedicate your life to electronic music?
Since I was a child, music has been really important in my life. During most of my childhood, I took guitar and piano lessons. Always listening to music practically all day, all styles. I’ve had many phases. But my interest in working with music came after I worked for a while as a voice actor.
I started going to studios in São Paulo, and I saw that recording environment, it made me happy in a way. I went on a production course and worked in a studio for a while, recording some bands. I was also part of a band.
My first productions were rap beats for some friends and also some experiments I did with techno, house and dubstep. Then I wanted to learn how to play and I took a DJ course and got more and more involved. What was a hobby has now become my life goal.

What are your main musical influences at the moment and how do they add to your style?
I try not to stick to just one style, lately, I wanted to show more versatility in my deliveries, both on sets and in productions. Having as references artists who play and produce everything, such as Solomun, Maceo Plex, Sven Vath, and Jonas Saalbach, among others that don’t stick to a single niche.
And about Brazilian names, which ones are you most inspired by?
Gui Boratto and Wehbba’s productions.

As an artist, what is the mission and vision that your project wants to convey to the public?
I don’t follow those defined “rules”. A lot of that comes from the corporate market. With music it’s different, you can have goals, but where music can lead an artist is totally impossible to define, so I let it flow naturally, doing what I believe and, consequently, building my story.

You studied several musical instruments during your training, do you still play any of them as a hobby? What do you do to take your mind off work?
Yes, there’s nothing better to distract the mind. I still love picking up an instrument at home and wasting time. Piano and guitar are part of my daily life!
In your productions, there’s a lot of feeling involved in the connection that the songs can create. How do you rate your dedication to it and the public’s perception?
The thing flows in a very natural way, there are no rules, when I feel like producing I sit in the studio and the music comes from my feeling at the moment and what I believe in. I usually listen to a lot of other artists and I bring references to my songs, but our goal is to be a reference and increasingly I create through what I think is important. I believe that this way, the connection with the public happens very organically and directly.

Currently, how do you evaluate/understand your artistic evolution? What projects have you been working on? Tell us some news!
I’m 100% studio focused and always looking for what I consider ideal musically. My manager has said that I am ready and mature and that my songs have portrayed that, and so our next focus is to release on important international labels within my segment. So we believe that other doors will be opening.
We have been talking with an important booking agency here in Brazil and I hope to have news soon. I will also be present at ADE in October in Amsterdam to make more relationships and strengthen possible new collaborations.
Finally, recommend to our readers an artist that hasn’t left your ears recently, from inside or outside electronic music.
Fat Freddys Drop. It’s a band I listen to the most on a daily basis! Their versatility always inspires me.
