Meet Kaligo Records

Always hovering through the dark and known for having a peculiar eye-shape on their wings, the owl butterflies called Caligo inspired the label which draws from nocturnal habits their brightest light: music. From Latin, “caligo” means darkness and from there comes the label’s name: Kaligo Records.

Founded in 2019 by Vitor Melgaço – aka Melgazzo – Kaligo Records is one of the greatest Techno labels to have stood out with consistent releases throughout the pandemic. With a solid musical identity, the label had numerous releases charting on Beatport becoming a reference in the genre as one of the Brazilian labels that sell more on the platform.

With lots of disposition to learn and work hard, Melgazzo managed to gather strong names contributing to the label’s success, such as Bervon, Tarter, Monic, among others. The label even got the support of Christian Smith from deadmau5 with the project Testpilot, showing how it managed to overcome so much in such a hard time for the music world.
